Troy Heisman focuses his practice on real estate and commercial litigation. He handles transactions and consulting for clients’ real estate needs through all stages of litigation, including negotiations, litigation strategy, due diligence, Alternate Dwelling Unit Rent Board hearings, and complex landlord tenant issues.

Troy served as an attorney for five years in the United States Navy as prosecutor, defense counsel, and government attorney in both Pensacola, Florida and Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. While in Florida, he served the JAG Corps as a criminal prosecutor for felony and misdemeanor offenses.

Additionally, Troy served in Hawaii as counsel for both Naval commands and individual Service Members. He advised Naval commanders regarding legal aspects of military operations, Service Member misconduct, and ethics. Troy also represented individual Service Members on case matters involving family law, landlord tenant disputes, and consumer fraud. Prior to his Navy legal career, Troy worked for the County Attorney in Wake County, North Carolina on civil litigation matters.

During law school, Troy served as Articles & Notes Editor for the First Amendment Law Journal, competed on the Corporate Appellate Advocacy Team, and was the Assistant Attorney General for UNC’s Honor System.
