Taimur Alamgir focuses his practice on representing management in labor and employment matters. He routinely defends businesses in employment litigation before federal and state courts and in administrative proceedings. His employment litigation experience includes wage-and-hour class and collective actions, discrimination and retaliation suits, and restrictive covenant enforcement actions. Mr. Alamgir’s litigation practice also extends to traditional labor-management disputes as well as accessibility claims asserted under the ADA.
In addition, Mr. Alamgir provides employers day-to-day counseling aimed to prevent employment litigation. He advises businesses on the full spectrum of employment law topics, including compliance, hiring practices, terminations, disciplinary actions, employment agreements, and employee handbooks. Mr. Alamgir has frequently and successfully counselled clients on navigating novel employment law issues arising from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Immediately prior to joining Kaufman Dolowich & Voluck, Mr. Alamgir was an associate in the Long Island office of a multistate defense firm, where his practice focused on employment litigation and counseling, as well the defense of municipalities and school districts in constitutional and other civil rights litigation. Earlier in his career, Mr. Alamgir practiced at a nationally-recognized New York City-based boutique employment and consumer protection litigation firm, where he successfully litigated hundreds of wage-and-hour class and collective actions, discrimination suits, and other employment and consumer fraud matters.
