Steven Nassi’s practice is focused on assisting domestic and international insurers with complex coverage issues, risk management, and defense of extracontractual claims. He handles a wide array of first-party and property insurance claims, including the investigation and defense of claims involving fraud and other misconduct. He often represents clients during the investigative and adjustment phase of the claims process.

Mr. Nassi handles cases involving various lines of insurance, including P&C, environmental, errors and omissions, privacy and data breach, energy and catastrophe, and construction defect. He advises insurers and private clients on coverage issues involving cyber attacks, HIPAA violations and electronic fraud. Mr. Nassi also advises clients on drafting policy forms and endorsements to address emerging issues and risks associated with a changing legal and regulatory landscape.

While his practice is focused on coverage issues, he also counsels reinsurers and cedents in disputes arising out of reinsurance arrangements. Clients involved in contentious matters related to managing general agents, third-party administrators, producers and books of business rely on Mr. Nassi for his understanding of the insurance industry and business.

Mr. Nassi is a skilled negotiator with experience in state and federal courts. He also represents clients in international and domestic arbitration proceedings, as well as mediations. He frequently lectures on topics related to coverage and claims handling, including the (re)insurance implications associated with hydraulic fracturing.

Mr. Nassi is fluent in Farsi, proficient in Spanish, and conversational in Hebrew.
