Robert Suarez

Overview

Robert Suarez, Of Counsel, focuses his practice in commercial litigation, maritime law, and transportation liability.

In his maritime law practice, Mr. Suarez represents vessel interests in both blue and brown water, marine terminal operators, stevedores, marine construction firms, shipbuilding and repair companies, marinas, and other parties in maritime cases in state and federal courts. His work includes defending clients in trucking and terminal accidents, as well as in claims brought pursuant to the Jones Act and the Longshore Act. Mr. Suarez is well-versed in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations and insurance including addressing risk transfer issues and alleged defect cases.

Mr. Suarez advises and defends transportation industry clients against personal injury, property damage and other claims stemming from accidents that occur on the road and on the water. He also represents insurance companies, including Protection Indemnity Clubs, which insure trucking companies and chassis owners for these types of risks. Mr. Suarez also defends insurance carriers’ policy claims disputes on behalf of consumer and commercial goods manufacturers and distributors, in products liability matters in federal courts in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York. 

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Suarez represented clients and litigated jury trials for both private businesses and insurance carriers covering law practice areas of transportation law, business and commercial litigation, construction, environmental, and product liability. He has defended lawsuits against a variety of transportation-related businesses including shipowners, marine and rail terminal operators, ferry owners, tug and tow operators, class societies and marine underwriters.

Mr. Suarez is fluent in Spanish and proficient in Italian.
