Overview

Attorney Libbi L. Vilher focuses her practice on employment law. She represents a variety of businesses in employment matters including claims of alleged discrimination, harassment, breach of contract, and in retaliation matters.

Ms. Vilher litigates wage and hour compliance cases and provides day-to-day guidance to employers on employment issues. Ms. Vilher regularly represents employers in both state and federal courts, and before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the New York State Division of Human Rights, and the New York City Commission on Human Rights. Additionally, Ms. Vilher defends housing providers in claims of discrimination and provides day-to-day counseling on compliance with all levels of fair housing laws.

She is fluent in Russian and speaks Hebrew and Ukrainian.

Prior to joining Kaufman Dolowich, Ms. Vilher served as an Assistant District Attorney in Nassau County, New York, where she prosecuted criminal cases. She handled cases of drug and weapon possession, drunk driving, armed robberies, special victims, and murders. She served in the District Attorney’s District Court Trial Bureau and in the Appeals Bureau.

While attending Brooklyn Law School she was an editor of the school’s Corporate Law Journal, a member of the Moot Court Honor Society, and received awards such as the Endowed Scholar Award and the CALI Excellence for the Future Award. Before becoming an attorney, Ms. Vilher served in the Israeli Defense Forces.
