Krystle Nova focuses her practice on the representation of management in all areas of labor and employment law. Ms. Nova defends employers against a variety of employment lawsuits from the inception of the lawsuit through trial, including claims related to discrimination, wrongful discharge, whistleblowing claims, unlawful harassment, retaliation, disability accommodation, family leave, and violations of both state and federal civil rights statutes. Additionally, Ms. Nova frequently provides employment counseling related to hiring and firing of employees, implementation and enforcement of workbook policies, investigations related to claims of harassment/discrimination and updating of employment handbooks to reflect the changes to federal, state, and local employment laws.
Ms. Nova has extensive experience in the representation of various municipalities, school boards and other public entities in litigation and compliance matters, including in the areas of Open Public Records Act, Public Contracts Law, disciplinary hearings, mediations, arbitrations, unfair practice charges and Special Education Law. She has also represented school boards at Individualized Education Program (“IEP”) meetings, mediations, and compliance investigations.
Ms. Nova was named one of the New Jersey Law Journal’s New Leaders of the Bar for 2017. In 2013, she was selected for inclusion in “The Latino American Who’s Who” (2013 Edition), recognizing leading Latino professionals and their achievements in the Latino community. She is a mentor for the Hispanic Bar Association of N.J.’s Union City High School Pipeline Program.
