Jose Martinez focuses his practice on a wide range of insurance coverage matters, including first-party property damage and third-party bodily injury disputes. Mr. Martinez draws on his expertise in corporate law to advise clients in corporate transactional matters, and handles all manner of civil litigation, including mass tort, premises liability and commercial disputes. Committed to ensuring his clients are informed each step of the way, Mr. Martinez is involved in all phases of litigation—from inception to trial.
Prior to joining KDV, Mr. Martinez was a law clerk at a boutique plaintiff’s litigation firm in Miami, Florida, specializing in representation of injured clean-up workers and first responders in personal injury claims arising from the BP Deepwater Horizon oil spill of 2010. Thereafter, Mr. Martinez honed his skills as a litigator as an associate at a mid-sized defense firm. Additionally, Mr. Martinez gained invaluable experience from internships. In addition to serving as a legal intern for the Office of the State Attorney for the 11th Judicial Circuit, Jose was a Rule 13 legal intern with the City of St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office, where he assisted with an election fraud case.
