Overview

Arthur Gaus focuses his practice on labor and employment, civil rights, data privacy, and commercial litigation.

Mr. Gaus is an experienced litigator in state and federal courts and his experience includes defending class-action labor and employment claims, including FEHA discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage and hour, collective Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) actions, action arising out of Collective Bargaining Agreements, as well as administrative actions before the Department of Labor Standards Enforcement, and the Worker’s Compensation Appeals Board. 

In addition to his labor and employment litigation practice, Mr. Gaus also has extensive experience litigating Civil Rights claims including ADA access cases and 1983 Actions and commercial disputes. Additionally, Mr. Gaus has experience representing restaurant franchises, large and small businesses, contractors and transportation companies in business and employment matters with an emphasis on employment law compliance and risk management. Mr. Gaus counsels businesses on privacy policy and compliance including compliance with the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) including development of policies, disclosures, notifications, and best practices surrounding data collection and use.

Mr. Gaus has experience in plaintiffs’ medical device mass torts. As a junior associate, he honed his knowledge of product liability work from discovery including about design defects, missing safeguards and failure to warn, through to case resolution through settlement.
