Alyssa L. Chabak focuses her practice on the representation of management in all aspects of labor and employment law. Ms. Chabak defends employers against various employment lawsuits, including claims of discrimination, sexual harassment, hostile work environment, retaliation, disability accommodation, family leave and whistleblower claims. She also provides counsel to employers regarding employee discipline and termination, workforce reductions, requests for accommodations and leaves of absence, and how to limit exposure to claims.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Chabak worked at several firms where she represented both employers and employees in all aspects of labor and employment litigation. She also has experience negotiating employment contracts and severance agreements, in addition to drafting and implementing employment handbooks to ensure compliance with state and federal laws.
Ms. Chabak served as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Hany A. Mawla, J.S.C. in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Somerset County, Law Division and Special Civil Parts. During her clerkship, Ms. Chabak received AOC accreditation in mediation for small claims, landlord-tenant and family law disputes and was recognized as having mediated the highest number of cases to successful resolution during the 2014-2015 term.
