Alexa Kleinberg is an associate in KDV’s Fort Lauderdale office and focuses her practice on labor and employment and general liability defense.

She represents clients in a range of employment-related claims including wage and hour claims, sexual harassment, employment discrimination,  and wrongful discharge. She ensures clients have appropriate policies in place to avoid potential wage and hour violations. Additionally, Ms. Kleinberg handles litigation for auto liability, premises liability, and general negligence claims.

Prior to joining KDV, Ms. Kleinberg was a legal intern at the Office of the State Attorney, 17th Judicial Circuit, Florida, and at three Florida law firms. She worked in criminal matters handling discovery, drafting motions, and interviewing crime victims, and on drafting trial motions in personal injury matters which included research and analysis of background information, depositions, and medical records. Additionally, Ms. Kleinberg served as a law clerk where she researched and wrote memoranda in the law areas of insurance defense, corporate business law, property law, estate planning, and automotive law.

Earlier, Ms. Kleinberg served as a law clerk in New Jersey in the Monmouth County Superior Court- Criminal Division, and the Municipal Prosecutor for Atlantic Highlands. During Ms. Kleinberg’s time at the University of Arizona, she advocated for students with disabilities whose rights were being abrogated, to the extent that the University’s Disability Resource Center amended policies in favor of the students. She served as president of the university’s First Generation Professionals Legal Society. Additionally, she was the competition coordinator of the Nova Trial Association. During her time in law school, she wrote an article about whether Braille is required for ADA compliant signage.

Ms. Kleinberg speaks conversational Spanish.
