News Release: Edwin Cruz Joins Kaufman Dolowich Labor & Employment Group as Partner in Fort Lauderdale Office, June 1, 2022

Fort Lauderdale, Fla. June 1, 2022 – Kaufman Dolowich & Voluck LLP (KD), a leading national law firm, today announced that Edwin ‘Ed’ Cruz has joined the firm’s Labor & Employment Law Practice Group as a partner in its Fort Lauderdale office. He brings more than 14 years of experience defending employers in a variety of matters, advising on ADA issues, including web accessibility and Title III compliance, and handling commercial litigation matters. Cruz represents clients in state and federal court in wage and hour class action disputes, and collective actions. He advises business clients to help them avoid investigations, compliance audits and employee lawsuits about overtime pay, commissions, proper employee classifications, worker designations, payroll and time records.

His litigation background and knowledge of ADA web compliance best practices on top of his general labor and employment capabilities will be particularly valuable to our team,” said Bruce S. Prior to joining KD, Cruz was an associate at Jackson Lewis in Miami, where he advised clients on a number of labor and employment issues, including wage and hour disputes, discrimination, wrongful termination, and retaliation matters. He also advised on compliance with a variety of workplace laws including FMLA, ADA and Title VII. He was previously an associate at Fowler White Burnett and Vernis & Bowling of Miami.

Cruz earned his J.D. from Florida International University College of Law, and earned his B.B.A. from Florida International University. He was named to the 2022 “Ones to Watch: Labor and Employment Law – Management” by The Best Lawyers in America©, and is fluent in Spanish.
