Michael Ganz Joins Kaufman Dolowich Long Island Headquarters as Construction Practice Partner, 1-10-2023

WOODBURY, N.Y. (January 10, 2023) – Kaufman Dolowich, a leading national law firm, today announced that Michael Ganz has joined the firm’s Woodbury, N.Y. headquarters as a partner. Ganz joins the firm’s Construction Law Practice Group, bringing more than 20 years’ experience focused almost exclusively in matters of construction law.

Ganz’ addition reflects the firm’s strategic plan to strengthen its national construction practice. He represents a wide range of construction industry clients including owners, developers, general contractors, trade contractors, sureties and design professionals, in issues relating to contract litigation, surety law and the analysis of construction claims. He handles state and federal commercial litigation, mediation and arbitration and labor law prevailing wage matters and also develops and negotiates construction claims and contracts. In addition, Ganz serves as a panelist in a variety of construction-related legal disputes on behalf of the American Arbitration Association’s Construction Division, serves as Legal Counsel to the Suffolk County Electrical Contractors Association and frequently speaks and writes on legal and construction industry matters on behalf of business, legal and industry publications and associations.

Prior to beginning his legal career, Ganz spent 10 years working as a mechanical and project engineer in the private and public sectors, including in the New York State Office of General Services and the New York City Department of Environmental Protection. Ganz was formerly deputy counsel to the Manhattan Borough President, chair of the New York County Lawyers Association’s Construction Law Committee and chair of Nassau County Bar Association’s Construction Law Committee.

Ganz previously practiced at Geotz Fitzpatrick LLP and Tunstead & Schechter. He received his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School and his B.S., in Mechanical Engineering, from State University of New York at Buffalo.
