Louie Castoria, Presenter at Professional Liability Defense Federation Conference (Oct. 3-5, 2018)

Posted May 25, 2018

Event Start Date: Oct 3, 2018

KD partner, Louie Castoria will be a presenter at the Ninth Annual Meeting and CLE/CEU Presentation of the PLDF in October. His presentation is entitled Ethical Lessons in True [Amusing] Stories: Wheel … of … Misfortune! This interactive comedy of errors will lampoon a certain popular game show, while providing real-life examples of professionals who purposely or carelessly got themselves sued. These are the stories you “can’t make up,” but don’t have to, because somebody else already did and tried it! There are important ethical lessons in these true stories, primarily about the duty of loyalty to a client or patient, and loyalty to a professional practice. These (mal)practitioners—the jokers in the deck—lost their ethical compasses, putting a higher value on their own gratification than their clients/ patients’ needs or those of their business partners.

The conference is being hosted in New Orleans this year from October 3-5, 2018. for more information on registering, please visit the Federation’s website. For a full agenda, click here

Louie Castoria is the Co-Chair of Kaufman Dolowich & Voluck’s National Professional Liability Practice Group, and a partner in the firm’s San Francisco office.  He defends financial and professional services clients, including lawyers, insurance and real estate agents and brokers, securities broker-dealers and advisers, accountants, and businesses covered under “miscellaneous” professional liability policies, throughout California and in the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).
