KD’s Louie Castoria Named Chair of PLDF Insurance Leadership Committee

Louie Castoria, a Partner in Kaufman Dolowich & Voluck LLP’s San Francisco office, has been selected by the Professional Liability Defense Federation as Chairman of its Insurance Agent/Broker Claims Committee.

The Federation is a national organization of professional liability insurance claims executives and outside counsel who defend professionals against claims. Castoria is the Director of KD’s West Coast Professional Liability Practice Group, and Co-Chairs the firm’s national Professional Liability Practice Group.

Castoria has defended insurance agents and brokers in malpractice cases for nearly his entire 36 years as a lawyer, and has co-authored a multi-volume treatise, “Insurance Agency Risk Management,” published by Thomson Reuters. He is Chairman Emeritus of the Board of Directors of the Insurance Educational Association, and still serves on that board, and has been active in the Professional Liability Underwriting Society (PLUS) for many years.
