Posted Jul 16, 2018

Event Start Date: Jul 23, 2018

KDV attorney Jim Yong is a speaker at the 2018 EB-5 Convention, which will be held on July 23 and July 24, 2018 in Los Angeles, CA. Jim will be joining a panel of other experts in discussions on the “Compliance Land Mines” in the EB-5 space. Jim and his fellow panelist will discuss legal and compliance issues with the rules and regulations of the United States Securities and Exchange Commission; issues related to the use of a United States broker-dealer and the broker-dealer’s compliance with the rules of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (“FINRA”); and on-going compliance issues related to the regional centers.

The Los Angeles EB-5 conference is the continuation of a series of EB-5 conferences and seminars, which are conducted both inside and outside of the United States on a regular basis for the last 6 years. These EB-5 conferences serve as an invaluable source of information for those who have involvement with the EB-5 investment visa program. This two-day educational, networking event will host a gathering of broker-dealers, project developers, immigration and securities attorneys, licensed migration agents, regional centers and other EB-5 program stakeholders and will act as a forum for the EB-5 community to learn, discuss, and further circulate information about the Immigrant Investor Program.

Since its inception in 2012, representative topics addressed at these events include the regional center designation process, EB-5 project marketing, EB-5 financing for hotel developers, and the impacts of visa retrogression. The EB-5 Conference has provided attendees with information on EB-5 essentials, best practices for filing investor applications, professional ethics issues for attorneys, due diligence and marketing issues for broker-dealers and more.

The conferences, hosted by and EB5 Investors Magazine, also feature high-profile keynote speakers and guest speakers who provide insider perspectives on EB-5 legislation and governmental stances on the program. For example, Dr. Joseph Muscat, the Prime Minister of Malta, will be the Keynote speaker in Los Angeles. Past speakers include members of the United States Congress, including Senators Ted Cruz of Texas, Jeff Flake of Arizona and various Congressmen that are the chairs of key Congressional committees, as well as current and former governors and members of the executive branch of state government.
