(March 17, 2016, New York, NY) — Kaufman Dolowich & Voluck LLP (KD), a leading national law firm, today announced that Anthony J. Proscia has joined the firm as a professional liability Partner in its New York City office.

Proscia’s practice focuses on the defense of professional liability claims, including attorney and accountant malpractice, errors and omissions claims against real estate and insurance brokers and broker-dealers. He also handles commercial, employment and general liability claims.

“Anthony’s experience as a litigator, handling trials and arbitrations, achieving favorable decisions on dispositive motions and securing settlements lower than the original potential exposures, makes him a valuable addition to our growing professional liability practice,” said Brett A. Scher, partner and co-chair of the KD’s professional liability practice. “Anthony has also worked in-house at an insurance company where he secured settlement and judgments of more than $10 million. Those combined experiences will provide valuable perspectives for our clients.”

“KD is committed to expanding its national professional liability practice and I look forward to contributing to both clients and the firm as it grows its practice in the U.S.,” said Proscia. “Having worked at a larger law firm, I appreciate the specialized focus and commitment the firm has in the liability and insurance areas that make up the heart of my practice.”

Proscia earned his B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law. He is admitted to practice in New York and is a member of the Professional Liability Underwriting Society and the Professional Liability Defense Federation.
