Ken Danielsen Presenter at Great American Insurance on Traumatic Brain Injury (Nov 6-7, 2018)
Kenneth Danielsen, partner in the KD New Jersey office, presented a CLE course for credit at Great American Insurance Company on November 6 and 7, 2018. He presented two lectures: “Defending Traumatic Brain Injuries” and “Defending cases with Life Care Plans.” On November 6th, Ken presented both lectures to the Great American Ocean Marine Group and on November 7th, he presented both lectures to the Great American Risk Solutions group.
Course Overviews:
On the Life Care Plan Presentation:
The Course discusses different options for addressing and defending life care plans beyond the basic approaches typically seen in practice. In particular we discussed the benefits of early planning for depositions, proper use of Daubert Motions (motions to preclude) and the usefulness of engaging experts to address pricing points contained within life care plans.
On the TBI Presentation:
The Course addresses the basic science of traumatic brain injuries, methods to assist in classifying the seriousness of the injury sustained and the most effective arguments and methods to use in defending cases involving brain injuries, including the proper role of experts, key data points in hospital records and the usefulness of surveillance techniques and other investigative tools to mitigate exposure.
