Kaufman Dolowich Grows In LA Area With Merger, Law360, 1-10-2022

Posted Jan 11, 2022

Long Island, New York-based Kaufman Dolowich & Voluck LLP has merged with California firm Greenberg Whitcombe Takeuchi & Gibson LLP, continuing a wave of expansion that has seen Kaufman Dolowich grow in areas including New York, San Francisco and Florida.

The tie-up with Los Angeles-area Greenberg Whitcombe, which was announced last week, adds seven partners and an of counsel to Kaufman Dolowich’s ranks. The new location in Torrance is Kaufman Dolowich’s fifth in California, with the others in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Oakland and Sonoma.

Andrew Waxler, who co-manages the Los Angeles and Torrance offices, told Law360 in an emailed statement Monday that he first started discussions about the merger in September after working with name partner John Whitcombe at a charity event. Waxler said that the new attorneys’ expertise in areas such as real estate and corporate law will help to meet the increased client demand in California.

“We knew almost immediately that it would be a great fit for our firms and our clients, and we soon started making plans for the Greenberg Whitcombe attorneys and staff to join KD,” he said. “All sectors of the California real estate market are experiencing high volume growth following the 2020 pandemic pause, and the combined groups’ experience and efficiency in real estate transactional matters provides a welcome alternative to the larger law firms charging historically high hourly rates and adding layers of supervision to each transaction.” PLEASE SEE LINK FOR FULL ARTICLE
