Employers Could Gain Leverage In Calif. Court Costs Fight

Law360, San Diego (October 21, 2013, 10:52 PM ET) — The California Supreme Court last week accepted a disability bias case against a fire district in order to consider whether a prevailing employer needs to show a state-law employment suit was frivolous before it can recover litigation costs, and lawyers say a finding that such proof is unnecessary would give employers leverage in settling worker disputes.
