Gary Y. Wirth joined KDVG as a Partner with a wealth of experience in Construction and Surety Law. After a brief period of employment with the United States Department of Interior, Mr. Wirth worked for a major New York construction law firm for more than 24 years. His practice areas include Surety, Fidelity, Construction Claims, Errors and Omissions defense for architects and engineers, Bankruptcy, General Commercial Law and Corporate Law. He also handles the following matters: discrimination cases, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), estate practice, real estate transactions and Industrial Development Agency Financing.
Mr. Wirth represents subcontractors, architects, engineers, design professionals, sureties, material suppliers, owners and general contractors in construction litigation cases, workouts and transactional matters. He litigates matters at trial and appellate levels in courts throughout the New York region and other parts of the country. In addition, Mr. Wirth is an Arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association.
Mr. Wirth received his Juris Doctor from Hofstra Law School and his Bachelor of Arts from Queens College magna cum laude.
Mr. Wirth is admitted to practice in New York and before the United States District Court for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Subcontractors Trade Association Executive Advisory Board and the New York Bar Association. Mr. Wirth frequently presents seminars on various construction issues at these and other organizations.
