Philip R. Voluck is the Managing Partner of KDVG’s Pennsylvania Office, located in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania, just outside of Philadelphia. Mr. Voluck concentrates his practice in the area of Employment Practices Liability, with a particular emphasis on sexual harassment, employment discrimination and wrongful discharge defense. His practice includes representing insurance carriers and their insureds as well as private companies before many federal and state courts and most federal and state agencies, including the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the U.S. Department of Labor. Mr. Voluck has also litigated employment claims in New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Indiana, Florida, Ohio, Kentucky, and California.
In addition to his litigation practice, Mr. Voluck advises clients on many day-to-day issues such as employee discipline and discharge how to prevent claims from arising. Mr. Voluck also brings a keen perspective advising clients and insureds on how to present as an insurable risk when applying for coverage or renewing.
Mr. Voluck is frequently tapped by national media for his employment law insights and has presented speeches, seminars and training sessions before many business and trade associations. Additionally, he is a published author of numerous articles on diverse Employment Law and Professional Liability topics. He was the Co-Chairman of the Professional Liability Underwriting Society's (PLUS) Mid-Atlantic Chapter from 2007 to 2009. PLUS is an international organization that is recognized in the industry as the primary source of Professional Liability educational programs and seminars. Mr. Voluck also co-chaired the PLUS Professional Risk Symposium for several years.
An active member of the Philadelphia metropolitan community for more than 25 years, Mr. Voluck has served as a lawyer for the Philadelphia Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts. He has also been a dedicated fundraiser for The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), having participated in the Hospital's Carousel Ball and chairing the Hospital's Annual Golf Classic, among other charitable endeavors.
Mr. Voluck received his Juris Doctor from The Georgetown University Law Center and his Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University. He is admitted to practice before the Courts of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as well as the United States Supreme Court, United States Court of Appeals, Third Circuit, and the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, American Bar Association and Montgomery County Pennsylvania Bar Association where he serves as a Member of its Bench Bar Committee for 2010.
