Kaufman Dolowich values the unwavering commitment our team members have to the local communities in which they work and live.  We encourage our team to give back as volunteers, fundraisers, and board members to their community organizations. They commit countless hours of volunteer work with local and national organizations that reflect their varied interests, passions and talents. We are proud to share some examples below:

  • Over the past few years, Kaufman Dolowich has provided more than 120,000 meals to local families and communities through Feeding America. Donations have been made to: City Harvest; Community Food Bank of Central Florida; Community Food Bank of New Jersey; Greater Chicago Food Depository; Feeding South Florida; Island Harvest of Long Island; Los Angeles Regional Food Bank; Philabundance; Redwood Empire Food Bank; Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida; and San Francisco Marin Food Bank.
  • Our Florida Partner Avery A. Dial serves as Chairman of the Board for The Foundation for Sickle Cell Disease Research and is also on the Board of Directors of Goodwill Industries of South Florida supporting the organization’s efforts dedicated to training, employment, and job placement for people with disabilities and other barriers to work.
  • Angella H. Myers, Managing Partner Dallas and New Orleans offices, and Dallas Partner Janice S. Parker, are a cohesive front on the Board of Directors of Helping Hands for Single Moms-Dallas. This organization provides critical services and support to low-income families with a single mom who is struggling to earn a college degree while also working and raising children.
  • The firm is a proud supporter of the Holocaust Memorial & Tolerance Center of Nassau County (HMTC)Ivan Dolowich, co-managing partner of Kaufman Dolowich, and Keith Gutstein, co-managing partner of the firm’s Long Island office and co-chair of the labor and employment practice group, sit on HMTC’s board. The Center uses the history and lessons of the Holocaust to teach about the dangers of antisemitism, bullying, racism, and all manifestations of intolerance.
  • Michael Kaufman, co-managing partner of Kaufman Dolowich, is an avid supporter of the Children’s Medical Fund of New York — an initiative dedicated to providing ongoing funding for programs that are vital to the needs of seriously ill children and their families.
  • Abbye E. Alexander, Co-Managing Partner, Orlando, is actively involved in her local community serving on the Board of Directors of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Florida and as Board Chair of the Arthritis Foundation Orlando.
  • Among community outreach efforts, Orlando Partner Juan P. Camacho is a tireless fundraiser for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) in Orlando, FL and was a “Visionary of the Year” candidate for the organization.
  • Our New Jersey Partner Karol Corbin Walker is a community advocate serving on the Salvation Army Morristown Corps Advisory Board, and Legal Services of New Jersey Board.
  • NYC Associate Christopher Arcitio is actively involved with Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City (BBBS of NYC) as a mentor to a New York City youth. BBBS of NYC serves over 2,500 youths annually across all five boroughs building and supporting mentoring relationships to ignite the brightest possible futures for youth. 
  • Our Florida Attorney Sameka A. Thompson gives back by serving on the Board of Directors of the National African American Insurance Association.
